In the Kangra constituency, Rajeev Bhardwaj is leading with 247,103 votes against Congress candidate Anand Sharma. Similarly, in Shimla, BJP's Suresh Kumar Kashyap is leading with 89,714 votes against Vinod Sultanpuri of the Congress.

The 17 Assembly constituencies that make up the Hamirpur Lok Sabha seat have historically supported the BJP since Suresh Chandel was chosen as the MP in 1998. He carried on till 2004.

It was believed that the NDA held a lead in more than 290 seats. With more over 230 seats, the INDIA bloc held the advantage.

In the 2019 general elections, Smriti Irani defeated Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in Amethi, taking the seat away from the Gandhi family for the first time in more than 20 years.
