The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is currently leading in all four constituencies in Himachal Pradesh, according to the latest updates from the Election Commission of India.
In the highly watched Mandi constituency, actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut is leading with 72,088 votes, while Congress candidate Vikramaditya Singh is trailing. The Mandi seat holds significant symbolic value for the Congress party as it has been a stronghold of the Virbhadra family. The seat is presently held by Pratibha Devi Singh, widow of the late leader Virbhadra Singh, who won it in a by-election following the death of BJP MP Ram Swaroop Sharma.
Kangana Ranaut commented on her lead, saying, “Those who spoke ill of a woman are now facing the consequences. Mandi has not taken kindly to the insults directed at its daughters. As for my departure to Mumbai, Himachal Pradesh is my ‘janmabhoomi’ and I will continue to serve its people. I have always pledged to work towards PM Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.’ I am here to stay; perhaps, it is someone else who will need to pack their bags.”
Congress candidate Vikramaditya Singh, dismissing exit poll predictions as media fabrications, stated, “Today’s verdict will be that of India and Himachal Pradesh. We will match the numbers projected by the leaders of the INDIA Alliance.”
