(Original) Analytical difference between Terrorism and Fanaticism

The difference is equal to the distance between terrorism and fanaticism since the direction of the both evil traits is the same..

Killing is winning

Killing is winning

In a layman’s language both the traits are different, out of whom the first one is unacceptable but the second one is not. Nevertheless, in practical terms there is not much difference between the two.

In fact, qualitatively both of them are evil in nature since humanity gets hurt by both of them equally.

When comparing between terrorism and fanaticism, the distance instead of the difference is more significant to analyze for the traits journey in the same direction.

The meaning of fanaticism can be clearly understood as per its definition given in the world’s most popular dictionary. Oxford English Dictionary (OED) FANATICISM is extreme beliefs or behavior, especially in connection with religion or politics synonym extremism. For Terrorism the OED says,it is  the use of violent action in order to achieve political aims or to force a government to act.

Here the violent extremism is clearly visible in both the cases which actually is bloody oppose of the norms and system of a society or a government. Both of the acts advocate for killings in order to get what they want which in fact is a crime. Hence, there is not much difference but a little distance between the two practices.

The TERRORISM openly opts for killing and FANATICISM advocates for killing. Thus both of them are the two aspects of the same coin or say same crime. Thus the significant is the distance not the difference while comparing both kinds of criminality.

Or in plan words, the thinking is fanaticism and the act is terrorism. In other words, the thought which provokes a person or a gang of criminals for killing some one or some people is fanaticism and the act of murdering is the terrorism. Both of the acts are extremism which actually is the third term in the same context.

Thus, the fanaticism is the provocation force for a terror act. Or in clear terms the thought and its action here in this case, are fanaticism and terrorism. Thus the distance between thought and action is the only distant difference between the two evil traits.
