Meghalaya, or the homestead of mists, is broadly viewed as perhaps of India’s most outwardly engaging state, and the travel industry division is couldn’t care less about to stop in its work to draw in vacationers streaming to the state.
In accordance with this, the Meghalaya Tourism Department and the Umiam Sailing Club and Yacht Association of India organized the eagerly anticipated 2nd Northeast Regatta 2023 in 2023 to promote sailing and other activities related to diving and parasailing.
Between April 29 and May 2, 2023, the second Northeast Regatta was held. Over the course of five days, over ten Indian states and 12 clubs, including Indian Army and Naval Services teams, took part in the racing spectacle.
In addition to promoting sailing, diving, and parasailing, the Northeast Regatta 2023 aims to boost tourism, establish Meghalaya on the international sailing map, produce medalists, and empower youth by providing employment opportunities and encouraging workshop participation.
Paul Lyngdoh, Meghalaya’s tourism minister, emphasized that the state is capable of producing not only national but also international athletes during the five-day event, which included not only national talents competing but also a large number of local youths.
According to Paul Lyngdoh, Meghalaya wants to host national water sports events in the future; As a result, an event of this magnitude will inspire the younger generation to achieve greatness in this sport.
He added that the division is presenting yacht and lake travels so such exercises speed up the speed of the travel industry in the state.
