In a touching story, a foreign visitor to India on a tourist visa is scheduled to return with a street dog she met in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. The dog, Jaya, is coming with Meral Bontenbel, an Amsterdam resident, along with the appropriate passport and visa.
Bontenbel encountered Jaya while meandering around the alleyways of Varanasi. “I wanted to visit Varanasi, so I traveled there. One day, when I was aimlessly strolling around with my fellow travelers, Jaya approached us. I was enamored with her since she was so lovely. After I gave her a hug, she followed us around. She began to follow us.
Then, one day, a different dog on the street attacked her, according to Bontenbel, who spoke to ANI.
Although Bontenbel’s first goal was to give Jaya a secure and loving home, her bond with the stray puppy evolved. In order to finish the requirements for Jaya’s passport and visa, Bontenbel had to stay in India for an additional six months, but she remained resolute in her goal to bring Jaya to the Netherlands.

“I’m overjoyed to be able to bring her along at last. It was a protracted procedure. It took me six months to bring her up to speed. She continued, “I fell in love with her the first time she walked up to me, and I have always wanted to have a dog.”

On X, the video was posted a few days ago. Since then, it has had over 9.9 lakh views, and the figure keeps rising. Some even poured their thoughts into the comments section.
