In response, BharatPe co-founder Ashneer Grover emphasized that the outrage might stem from the fact that work is still being evaluated based on “hours” rather than “outcome.”

Narayana Murthy, in a podcast with former Infosys CFO Mohandas Pai, argued that India’s work productivity is among the lowest globally. He called on India’s youth to work extra hours, drawing parallels to the post-World War II efforts of Japan and Germany.
