Varanasi : In Varanasi 30 temples which are located in various localities of the city will now know by new names.
These changes are being made to kept on 45 scriptures, that is, the actual names of the temples will be kept on the basis of these scriptures only for which these temples have been identified.
The scientists of BHU, Brahmin Mahasabha and scholars of Kashi are studying on the history of theses temples and are being marked on the basis of their antiquity. A team of 30 scholars from Kashi is gathering information about the history and mythology of the temples. 45 texts of the 11th century are being studied. Through this, all the temples of Kashi are going to get recognition soon.
Mr Ajay Sharma, State President of Brahmin Mahasabha Varanasi said that till now more than 30 extinct temples have been discovered. Soon its report will be given to the Culture and Tourism Department. Besides, the name of Jangleshwar Mahadev will be changed in place of Tilbhandeshwar.
Similarly Madhaveshwar in place of Shultankeshwar, Mahasiddhishwar in place of Indreshwar, the original name of Siddheshwar will be changed to Trishulishwar, Mohenshwar Mahadev will be changed in place of Brihaspatishwar.
In naming the new temples, the help of these books and Puranas will be taken, on the basis of which the temples will be named. Other books and Puranas including Skandpuran, Kashi Khand, Padma Puran, Linga Puran, Kashi Rahasya, Brahma Vaivarta, Kashi Mahatmya, Mitra Mishra, Krit Kalpataru, Tristhaliya Setu, Tirtha Chintamani are also included.
