During the course of the inquiry into the rape of a young girl in Ujjain, a member of the Madhya Pradesh Police has offered to assume financial responsibility for the girl’s medical care, education, and marriage. Ajay Verma, the policeman, claimed that numerous other individuals are stepping forward to assist her.
“I’ve promised to look after the girl’s care, education, and marriage. Many other people have also expressed interest in this project. I have a lot of faith that everything will get done on time. Verma, the investigating officer and head of the Mahakal police station, told news agency ANI that he would also admit the patient to a different hospital once she was discharged from the first one for additional treatment.
The 15-year-old girl was discovered bleeding on a road within the confines of the Mahakal police station in Ujjain on September 25, prompting reports of the occurrence that has shocked the nation. After being transferred to a hospital, a medical examination revealed that she had been sexually assaulted.
According to reports, the victim, who hails from the Satna district, arrived in Ujjain on Sunday.
Two autorickshaw drivers have been detained in connection with the case; one, Bharat Soni, was detained for allegedly raping the kid, while the other, Rakesh Malviya, was detained for allegedly attempting to obliterate evidence. Soni was seized, according to the police, when CCTV footage revealed him engaging with the victim close to the Ujjain train station.
“We identified the girl against whom a missing report was lodged on Monday in Jaitwara police station and notified Ujjain police after seeing the viral footage. Her identity was confirmed by her grandfather, according to Satna assistant superintendent of police Shivesh Singh Baghel.
The girl is receiving care at a hospital in Indore in the interim. The girl’s condition has reportedly been improving, but a member of the National Commission for the Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) who visited the victim warned it might take a long time for her to recover from the mental trauma.
