8 Militants Killed In Northwest Pakistan During Intelligence-Based Operations

Pakistan’s Security forces remain determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism

Pakistan

The military announced on Friday that eight terrorists were killed and five apprehended in two separate intelligence-based operations in Pakistan’s restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

The first operation was carried out in the Jani Khel general area of Bannu District, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military’s media wing.

Six militants were killed and five were arrested during a violent shootout between the security forces and terrorists.

According to the ISPR, those slain in the operation were involved in a variety of terrorist activities against security forces, including the facilitation of last month’s motorcycle-borne suicide attack on a military convoy in Jani Khel, which resulted in the deaths of nine security forces members.

In another operation, two militants were killed in an encounter with the security forces in the Datta Khel general area of the North Waziristan tribal district territory.

Weapons and ammo were retrieved from the victims. A sanitization operation was begun in the surrounding districts to eliminate any remaining terrorists.

“Pakistan’s Security forces remain determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism”, the military’s media wing added.
