A 49-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by three people following a dispute in Maharashtra’s Thane district, an official said on Tuesday.
The unfortunate incident occurred around 1 am on Monday when the victim was strolling. Reportedly, he fortuitously pushed the accused in the Vitthalwadi locality of Ulhasnagar. Consequently, it triggered the accused who brutally beat him, said the police quoting a complaint filed by the victim’s son.
The victim’s son received a phone call from his father who informed him about the incident and that he was in a hospital. The plaintiff took his father to a government hospital in Ulhasnagar. However, the victim has breathing issues due to which he was rushed to a civic-run hospital in the Kalwa area. Due to the unavailability of oxygen, the victim was subsequently hurried to the KEM Hospital in neighbouring Mumbai where he puked and doctors later declared him dead, as mentioned in the FIR.
Following the course of the event, the victim’s son lodged a complaint against the three accused. According to the police, an acquaintance of the departed witnessed the accused ruthlessly beating him. Depending on the complaint made early Tuesday morning, the police have registered a case against the accused under Indian Penal Code Sections 302 (murder) and 34 (common intention), the official said.
No arrests have been made as of now, however, there is an ongoing investigation into the matter.
