Texas Woman Killed By Stray Bullet While Taking Her Daughter To Get Her Prom Dress

A woman was on her way to pick up a prom dress for her daughter in Texas when she was shot by a stray gunshot the day before Mother’s Day.

The Dallas Police Department said in a statement that Ana Moreno, 39, was traveling with her daughter when she was hit by the bullet at approximately 4 pm on Saturday.

According to the investigation, two automobiles were shooting at each other while traveling east on Bruton Road. As a result, a bullet entered Moreno’s vehicle and killed her.

The police said that other three other male victims were also shot and were in severe condition at local hospitals as of Sunday.

Amy Rodriguez, Ms. Moreno’s 18-year-old daughter that they were on their way to pick up her prom dress when they heard really loud gunshots, and really close to us.

“I told her to keep going”, she explained. She remembered her mother gesturing at her throat so that she could go on.

She further said, “We crashed … she fell on me, and when I looked at her I [saw] blood – and I knew”.

“I didn’t care about prom. I didn’t care about anything. I just wanted her to be OK”, she added of her mother, who was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

“It’s difficult”, she continued. “I just still can’t believe it”, she added.

A bystander Jacob Faz said that he was driving by when he pulled over in response to Amy’s appeals. He described her as panicky. She was attempting to persuade someone to assist her mom. She was scared.

He went on to say that because the victim has no pulse, he couldn’t help her.

According to police, no arrests had been made.
