One of the biggest stars in the Karnataka film industry, Kichcha Sudeep, announced today that he will campaign for the Bharatiya Janata Party.

The actor made the statement today and made it clear that he would not be running for office.

Kichcha Sudeep told the media, “I won’t run in the elections; I’ll just campaign for the BJP”.

Additionally, he participated in a press conference alongside Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and declared that regardless of the party the leader belonged to, he would have backed them.

As the Chief Minister’s godfather, Kichcha Sudeep declared, “I give my support to respected Bommai sir”.

He continued, “When I say I support CM Bommai, I will support all those that he recommends”.

The actor responded, “I totally respect certain decisions Mr. Modi has taken, but that has got nothing to do with me sitting here today” when asked if he agreed with the BJP’s ideology.

Karnataka will hold voting on May 10, 2023, and the results will be tallied on May 13, 2023.

In an effort to win back power, the BJP government, led by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, is focusing on the Kannadigas issue and giving Lingayat and Vokkaliga communities reservations instead of the Muslim community, which was a recent decision made by the state government.

In the Karnataka assembly, the BJP presently holds 119 seats, while the Congress holds 75 seats and its ally JD(S) holds 28 seats.
