A fire broke out at a shop in Chain Wali Gali of Delhi’s Gaffar Market late on Thursday night, prompting fire brigade teams to rush to the spot. Firefighters launched an operation to bring the blaze under control, while officials awaited details of the damage and possible casualties.

Earlier on Thursday, a massive fire engulfed a factory in the Narela Industrial Area of Outer North Delhi. The fire department received an emergency call at around 9:05 AM and immediately dispatched 10 fire tenders to the location.

Firefighters worked to extinguish the flames and prevent them from spreading. Officials reported no casualties at the time, while investigators began examining the cause of the blaze.

The latest incidents follow a deadly fire at a shoe factory in Delhi’s Mangolpuri Industrial Area on October 30, which claimed four lives and left two people seriously injured.

The fire broke out at around 9:30 PM at a factory in Phase-I of the industrial area. Delhi Police, fire brigade teams and rescue personnel rushed to the site and launched relief operations.

Rescue teams pulled six people out of the factory during the operation. Officials found all six unconscious. Four later succumbed to their injuries, while doctors treated two others for serious injuries.

Firefighters worked for several hours to bring the Mangolpuri blaze under control.

The three incidents have renewed concerns over fire safety in Delhi’s commercial markets and industrial areas. They have also highlighted the need for effective emergency response systems, adequate fire prevention measures and regular safety inspections to reduce risks at workplaces and business establishments across the capital.
