A woman head constable with the Delhi Police has set an inspiring example of dedication and commitment to public service by tracing 135 missing people in just one year.
Chanchal, who is posted at Jaitpur Police Station in southeast Delhi, traced 119 missing children and reunited them with their families between November 2025 and October 2026. She located 16 missing adults during the same period.
Of the 119 children she rescued, 41 were below the age of 14, while 78 were between 14 and 18 years old. Her efforts have helped bring dozens of vulnerable children back to the safety of their homes.
According to police officials, tracing younger children presents particular challenges because they face a greater risk of falling prey to human trafficking, child labour and exploitation.
Such cases require sustained efforts, careful investigation and prompt police action to ensure the children’s safety.
Chanchal’s achievement highlights the important role police personnel play in protecting vulnerable sections of society and supporting families searching for their missing loved ones.
Senior police officers praised her dedication and exceptional work on Wednesday. Her efforts to trace 135 missing people within a year have earned recognition within the department and demonstrated how individual commitment can make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
Through her consistent efforts, Chanchal has not only helped reunite missing children and adults with their families but has reinforced public confidence in the police force.
