Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have completed a major player trade ahead of IPL 2027.
England all-rounder Liam Livingstone and Australian all-rounder Jack Edwards will represent Chennai. Meanwhile, left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed and Australian fast bowler Nathan Ellis will join Hyderabad.
The exchange strengthens CSK’s all-rounder options and adds depth to SRH’s pace attack.
Livingstone headlines CSK’s acquisitions after SRH signed him for ₹13 crore. However, the official trade announcement confirmed his transfer to Chennai for ₹6 crore.
The England all-rounder struggled during IPL 2026. He scored just 15 runs across two matches before losing his place in the playing eleven.
Edwards will join CSK at his existing fee of ₹3 crore. SRH recruited the Australian before his international debut, but a foot injury ruled him out of IPL 2026.
Khaleel returns to SRH, where he played between 2018 and 2021, at his existing fee of ₹4.8 crore.
The left-arm pacer claimed 15 wickets in 14 matches for CSK during IPL 2025. However, a right hamstring injury requiring surgery restricted his IPL 2026 campaign to five matches.
Ellis completes the exchange and joins SRH at his existing fee of ₹2 crore. An aggravated hamstring injury forced him to miss IPL 2026.
The Australian right-arm pacer brings valuable death-over experience and bowling variations. He also represented Sunrisers Leeds in this year’s The Hundred competition.
The ongoing trading window has witnessed several high-profile exchanges. Delhi Capitals brought former captain Rishabh Pant back from Lucknow Super Giants in exchange for left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav.
DC also traded left-arm pacer T Natarajan to SRH, receiving leg-spinner Zeeshan Ansari in return.
