Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid tribute to freedom fighter Vasudev Balwant Phadke on his birth anniversary, remembering his contribution to India’s armed revolutionary movement and his dedication to the country’s independence.
In a post on social media platform X, Shah described Phadke as the father of India’s armed revolution and an inspiration to generations of revolutionaries.

He said the freedom fighter considered India’s independence and the protection of its people’s self-respect greater than anything else.
Shah highlighted Phadke’s efforts to unite young people from different communities and social backgrounds, mobilising them for the struggle against British rule.
He said Phadke believed in bringing people together for the larger cause of national freedom.
The Home Minister also recalled Phadke’s contribution to social welfare, particularly his assistance to people affected by famine.
He highlighted the revolutionary’s role in establishing the Aikya Vardhini Sabha, an organisation aimed at educating and raising awareness among young people.
Describing Phadke’s life as an example of service, compassion and patriotism, Shah said his legacy remained an enduring source of inspiration for those who place the nation first.
He offered his humble homage to the revolutionary on the occasion of his birth anniversary, acknowledging his role in shaping India’s early resistance to colonial rule.
Vasudev Balwant Phadke is remembered for organising armed resistance against British rule and mobilising people, particularly from rural communities, for the freedom movement.
His revolutionary activities and commitment to social causes made him one of the prominent figures in India’s early struggle for independence.
Shah’s tribute highlighted both Phadke’s revolutionary contribution and his commitment to social service, presenting his life as a lasting example of patriotism and national dedication.
