Adani Foundation Chairperson Dr Priti Adani on Monday said the Adani Group is implementing large-scale infrastructure projects to address India’s key challenges and support the country’s vision of becoming a developed nation by 2047.
Addressing the World Symposium on ‘Ancient Wisdom for Modern Challenges’ in Varanasi, she highlighted persistent issues such as poverty, malnutrition, illiteracy and limited last-mile access to essential services, including electricity.
She stressed that businesses must play an active role in addressing these challenges and contribute to the country’s long-term development.
Drawing on India’s traditional knowledge, Dr Adani emphasised the importance of integrating sustainability into business operations and placing collective responsibility above individual interests.
Citing yoga as an example of India’s ancient wisdom, she said its global recognition demonstrated the relevance of traditional practices in modern life.
She also referred to millets, which have regained importance in discussions on nutrition, climate resilience and food security.
Sustainability and Renewable Energy Initiatives
Highlighting the group’s sustainability commitments, Dr Adani said the Adani Group had committed more than $100 billion towards energy-transition infrastructure.
She particularly cited the renewable energy project at Khavda in Gujarat, describing it as the world’s largest renewable energy park, with a planned generation capacity of 30 GW through solar and wind power.
Emphasising the need for practical action, she said sustainability should not remain limited to corporate reports but must become an integral part of business operations.
Her remarks highlighted the role of large-scale infrastructure investment, renewable energy and sustainable business practices in supporting India’s development goals and advancing the Viksit Bharat vision by 2047.
