India and Poland have agreed to deepen cooperation in defence, space and nuclear energy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday. He invited Polish companies to collaborate with India on co-development and co-production across these strategic sectors.
PM Modi made the remarks during a joint press conference with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk at Hyderabad House in New Delhi, following their bilateral talks.
Recalling his 2024 visit to Warsaw, Modi said both countries had elevated their relationship to a Strategic Partnership. He added that the partnership had gained fresh momentum over the past two years.

The Prime Minister said India and Poland were emerging as important centres of economic growth, technology and innovation amid global uncertainty. He expressed confidence that companies from both countries would build reliable supply chains and help achieve their shared target of doubling bilateral trade by 2030.
PM Modi highlighted the historical ties between the two nations, recalling how the royal families of Jamnagar and Kolhapur sheltered thousands of Polish children and families during the Second World War.
He noted that people in Poland still remember Jam Saheb as Dobry Maharadza, or the Good Maharaja.
Congratulating Poland on its gross domestic product crossing the $1 trillion mark, Prime Minister Modi said India recorded 7.8 per cent growth in the previous quarter. He added that the India-European Union Free Trade Agreement could create further opportunities for bilateral trade and investment.
Once implemented, the agreement could boost Indian exports of machinery, chemicals, plastics and engineering goods to Poland.
PM Modi identified railways, mobility, advanced manufacturing, food processing and biotechnology as potential areas for increased Polish investment.
