Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani on Wednesday highlighted the significance of Bloomberg co-founder Michael Bloomberg’s vision for India, emphasising the need to combine infrastructure development with trusted data, transparent governance and inclusive growth.
In a social media post, Adani reflected on his meeting with Bloomberg during the Bloomberg New Economy Forum in New Delhi. He said leadership should be measured not merely by present achievements but by the commitment to expand what humanity can accomplish in the future.

Adani said nations needed both physical infrastructure, including ports, power transmission networks, green hydrogen facilities, computing clusters and transport systems, and strong institutions supported by reliable data and accountable governance.
He noted that emerging economies such as India must rapidly expand power generation, industrial capacity and digital access to improve the economic security of millions. Meanwhile, developed financial markets often prioritise faster decarbonisation and regulatory alignment.
Despite these differing priorities, Adani said both perspectives shared the belief that clean energy must remain affordable and reliable. He warned that the energy transition could fail if it increased costs for households and small businesses or hindered industrial growth.
He also cautioned against relying on outdated systems amid growing climate risks, arguing that governments, investors and industry must work together to reduce the cost of green energy and make it the preferred option.
Adani praised Bloomberg’s three decades of engagement with India and his philanthropic contributions, highlighting support for AI, advanced manufacturing and green infrastructure.
They also discussed Dharavi’s redevelopment, with Adani stressing the need to protect livelihoods while providing climate-resilient homes, sanitation and reliable electricity.
He concluded that nation-building requires patient capital, effective execution, transparent governance and capable local leadership.
