Today, Energy Minister AK Sharma’s sharp attitude was seen in the Vidhan Sabha in response to the question of a Samajwadi Party MLA.
Answering the SP MLA’s question, the Energy Minister said, “This is a fight between the pre-2017 contractors and post-2017 contractors. It should not be taken up in the Legislative Assembly”.
He further said, “It is true that the two companies being talked about have received several tenders since 2017-18, but they have not received so many tenders in the last 5 years”.
Taking up a few company names as an example, the Energy Minister said, “As the tender number 103 of Gorakhpur went to Rama Power Corporation, it did not go to the company that was mentioned. You’re saying that there is a scam in EPF and ESIC, nothing like this has come to the fore so far”.
“The contractor on whom questions are being raised has been doing the contract for 5 years and I have been a minister for 11 months. He is a BJP worker, that’s why you are getting irritated”, he added.
He rejected the SP MLA’s allegations by saying that you cannot put pressure by talking unrestrainedly. You should not do such irresponsible things. This entire contract ran from 2017-18 and there has been no report of any disturbance in it in five years.
Energy Minister AK Sharma said, “When there is no problem, we cannot cancel his tender just because he is a BJP worker”. “SP people do not want BJP workers to earn their livelihood honestly”, he added.
