Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday sent congratulations to Indian athletes who reached the podium at the ongoing Asian Games, commending the kabaddi squads and medal winners from several other disciplines.
PM Modi praised Joshna Chinappa and Velavan Senthilkumar for taking bronze in mixed doubles squash.

India’s women retained their Asian Games kabaddi title by defeating Iran 37-34 in a closely fought final. PM Modi commended the team’s teamwork and calm performance under pressure.

The men’s team also kept its crown, overcoming Iran 40-34. After trailing 17-18 at the break, India stepped up its performance in the second half to secure its ninth Asian Games gold in men’s kabaddi.

Medals in Shooting and Table Tennis
The Prime Minister also congratulated Tilottama Sen, Vidarsa Vinod Kochalumkal and Ashi Chouksey on their silver-medal finish in the women’s 50m rifle 3 positions team competition.

India posted 1,763 points, with China taking gold on 1,773 and Kazakhstan claiming bronze with 1,754.

The medal extended Toor’s run of Asian Games podium finishes to three consecutive editions, following his gold medals in 2018 and 2022.
