Lawyers welcomed CM Yogi Adityanath at the High Court with chants of ‘Jai Shri Ram’.
Association Vice President Amit Singh Sonu prostrated before him. The Chief Minister symbolically handed over keys to new advocate chambers.
CM Yogi praised young lawyers and said their confidence reflected a bright future. He described Prayagraj as a land that produced eminent jurists, advocates and public leaders who shaped constitutional consciousness and legal discourse.
CM Yogi stressed stronger coordination among democracy’s three pillars.
The Chief Minister said Uttar Pradesh faced resource shortages, weak administrative transparency and inadequate judicial infrastructure before 2017. He cited 45 per cent vacancies in the police force and said large-scale recruitment strengthened law and order.
CM Yogi linked Ganesh Chaturthi with devotion to Lord Ganesha and Haritalika Teej with family prosperity. He urged Indians to strengthen Hindi as the official language on Hindi Diwas.
The Chief Minister highlighted lawyers’ historic role in India’s freedom movement, recalling Mahatma Gandhi, Motilal Nehru, Madan Mohan Malaviya, Sardar Patel and BR Ambedkar.
Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said justice must remain equal for everyone. He highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s focus on ease of living and ease of justice, alongside new laws replacing colonial-era legislation.
“We will not harass the innocent, nor will we spare the guilty,” Maurya said.
The Minister added that he would present his case for the 2027 elections before the lawyers’ ‘court’ and urged them to ‘Please do justice’.
The new High Court complex houses 2,375 chambers with capacity for over 11,000 advocates.
The ₹680-crore project includes more than 2,500 chambers, parking for around 2,200 two-wheelers and 1,000 cars.
The project was inaugurated on May 31, 2025. Advocates will now benefit from the facilities after receiving their chamber keys.
