80th Independence Day: PM Modi Says Next 25 Years Crucial For Building Viksit Bharat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said India cannot afford to slow down or pause as it works towards becoming a Viksit Bharat by 2047, calling the next 25 years crucial for the country’s development.

Addressing the nation from the historic Red Fort on the 80th Independence Day, PM Modi said the vision of a developed India was built on the capabilities and achievements demonstrated by citizens over the past decade. He further stressed that the country must maintain its momentum and accelerate its development journey.

The Prime Minister said India would need to transform its work culture, raise collective aspirations and speed up decision-making and project implementation to achieve its ambitious goals.

PM Modi highlighted India’s growing influence and standing globally, saying the country was emerging as a widely accepted and respected nation. He attributed this progress to India’s stable government, vibrant democracy, strong judiciary and Constitution.

Highlighting India’s expanding global trade opportunities, PM Modi said the country had finalised Free Trade Agreements and trade partnerships with nearly 40 nations since 2014. He described these agreements as a major opportunity for Indian businesses and urged micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to take full advantage of them.

The Prime Minister highlighted opportunities for coastal states and fishing communities. He said trade agreements could significantly boost exports of Indian shrimp and expand the global presence of the country’s seafood sector.

PM Modi urged businesses, entrepreneurs and communities to seize these opportunities as India moves towards its long-term development goals. He said the coming years would play a decisive role in shaping India’s future and reiterated that sustained momentum, faster implementation and collective efforts would be essential to achieving Viksit Bharat by 2047.
