Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release former President Ram Nath Kovind’s autobiography, ‘Triumph of the Indian Republic: My Life, My Struggles’, at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi on Wednesday.

The Prime Minister will also address the gathering during the programme, which will begin at 09:30 AM.

The Prime Minister’s Office described the book launch as a significant occasion celebrating the life and contributions of one of India’s most distinguished public figures.

The autobiography presents a deeply personal account of Kovind’s remarkable journey, tracing his early life, struggles and accomplishments before his rise to public prominence and eventual service as India’s 14th President.

The book also explores the values, experiences and circumstances that shaped his outlook and commitment to public service.

Announcing his participation, PM Modi said the autobiography highlights Kovind’s inspiring life and dedicated efforts to serve society.

Born on 1 October 1945 into a Koli family in Paraunkh village of Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur Dehat district, Kovind joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in 1991. He later headed the BJP Dalit Morcha from 1998 to 2002 and also served as president of the All-India Koli Samaj.

Kovind contested Assembly elections from Ghatampur and Bhognipur but was unsuccessful. He was elected to the Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh in April 1994 and served two consecutive terms spanning 12 years until March 2006.

The former President subsequently served as the Governor of Bihar from 2015 to 2017 before becoming President of India.

Kovind held the country’s highest constitutional office from 2017 to 2022, becoming the first person from Uttar Pradesh and the first BJP leader to occupy the post.
