Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the ‘Nasha Mukta Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyaan’ on Sunday at 11:00 AM through video conferencing.
The nationwide initiative aims to motivate young people to reject substance abuse and contribute towards building a Viksit Bharat.
During the virtual programme, the Prime Minister will encourage the youth to become ambassadors of positive social transformation within their communities.
The launch will also mark the beginning of a 100-week Jan Bhagidari campaign dedicated to creating a drug-free society.
Under the initiative, organisers will conduct weekly activities every Sunday across the country to spread awareness and strengthen public participation. These programmes will include sports competitions, walkathons, meditation sessions, cultural performances, awareness drives, nukkad nataks, discussion forums, art contests and community outreach activities.
The campaign, however, seeks to unite educational institutions, youth organisations, civil society groups, industry bodies and spiritual organisations on a common platform.
The initiative aims to create a collective movement against substance abuse through active community engagement.
More than 10,000 locations across the country will join the launch programme virtually.
MY Bharat Volunteers, National Service Scheme volunteers, youth clubs, schools, colleges, universities, NGOs, youth wings of industry associations and over 125 partner spiritual organisations will participate in the nationwide event.
The campaign aligns with Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat’ and reinforces the national commitment towards achieving the goals of Viksit Bharat 2047 through public participation.
The organisers have adopted the message, ‘Drug-free youth are the greatest strength of Viksit Bharat’.
Through this long-term public movement, the government aims to inspire young citizens to build a healthier, safer and addiction-free society.
