Surangan, Sanskar Bharati Mark Guru Purnima With Classical Music And Devotion

Surangan and Sanskar Bharati jointly organised a grand Guru Purnima celebration and cultural symposium at the Sanskar Bharati Kala Sankul Auditorium in New Delhi, bringing together eminent musicians, scholars and art lovers to honour India’s timeless Guru-Shishya tradition through classical music and devotion.

The programme began with the worship of Adi Guru Nataraja, followed by the collective rendition of the Sanskar Bharati anthem.

Disciples of internationally acclaimed classical vocalist Vidushi Dr Nabaneeta Choudhury then presented soulful performances, including Ganesh Vandana, Saraswati Vandana and Guru Vandana in Raag Charukeshi, filling the auditorium with devotion and leaving the audience captivated.

Invited classical vocalist Jayantika Dey from Varanasi enthralled listeners with an evocative rendition of Raag Miyan Malhar, perfectly suited to the monsoon season. She later presented a melodious thumri, earning widespread appreciation for her musical maturity and expressive performance.

Young tabla artiste Aritro Choudhury enhanced the vocal performances with his sensitive accompaniment, while noted harmonium player Zakir Dholpuri added depth and elegance through his accomplished musical support.

The evening concluded with a captivating sitar recital by renowned maestro Pandit Parth Bose from Kolkata. Through his elaborate alaap, jod, jhala and compositions, he showcased the richness of Indian classical music and received a standing ovation from the audience.

Acclaimed Delhi-based tabla player Sudip Choudhury accompanied the recital with a masterful performance.

Shraboni Saha of Sanskar Bharati thanked the artists, guests and organisers.

Eminent musicians, cultural personalities and art lovers attended the event, while former Intelligence Bureau Director NK Mishra conducted the programme.

The celebration honoured India’s Guru-Shishya tradition, and organisers also acknowledged the contributions of Raj Upadhyay, Sneha Mukherjee, Garima Rani, Shyam Ji, Brajesh, Vijender and Mrityunjay.
