CJP Founder Abhijeet Dipke Diagnosed With Typhoid, Says Protest Will Continue

Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke announced on Saturday that doctors had diagnosed him with typhoid.

Despite his illness, Abhijeet Dipke declared that the movement demanding Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation would continue without interruption.

Sharing a post on X, Dipke said his determination remained unchanged and insisted that the protest would continue until Pradhan stepped down.

In a video message, Abhijeet Dipke informed supporters that he had been unwell for the past few days and had started medical treatment, including daily intravenous drips.

Dipke expressed gratitude to supporters participating in peaceful protests across the country and praised their commitment to the campaign. He said their efforts had strengthened the movement and voiced confidence that sustained demonstrations would eventually achieve their objective.

At the same time, the CJP welcomed the Centre’s decision to introduce educational reforms. It also welcomed the proposed amendments to the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024.

The party stressed that these measures did not replace its principal demand for Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation.

The announcement came shortly before the third round of discussions between the Centre and the CJP.

During Friday’s meeting, Union Ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh assured the party’s delegation that the government would consider its demands. They said the government would respond after further deliberation.

CJP spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka said additional meetings would serve little purpose if the government refused to remove the Education Minister.

Ranka also argued that replacing the Education Secretary and removing 47 National Testing Agency officials failed to address the issue of accountability. He said the responsibility rested with the Union Education Minister.

On Friday, the Union Cabinet approved a draft Bill proposing stricter penalties for organised examination paper leaks.

The proposed amendments include imprisonment of up to 10 years. They also provide for fines of up to Rs 10 crore.

The changes significantly strengthen the provisions of the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024.
