Ashadhi Ekadashi, also known as Devshayani Ekadashi or Hari Shayani Ekadashi, is being observed on Saturday.
According to the Drik Panchang, the Ekadashi tithi began at 02:44 AM on July 25 and will conclude at 12:14 AM on July 26.
The festival marks the beginning of Chaturmas, a four-month period regarded as highly sacred in Hindu tradition.
According to Hindu scriptures, Lord Vishnu enters Yoga Nidra (divine sleep) on Ashadhi Ekadashi and awakens on Prabodhini Ekadashi, marking the beginning of the sacred Chaturmas period.
Devotees observe the day with prayers, fasting, offerings of Tulsi leaves, flowers and sweets, and by reciting the Vishnu Sahasranama. Many also perform charitable acts and dedicate the Chaturmas period to meditation, self-discipline and spiritual growth.
