Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s latest Instagram reel crossed 303 million views within 24 hours, setting a new global milestone on the platform.

The record surpassed the previous mark of 300 million views and came during continuing student protests over the examination paper leak issue at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.

Following the record-breaking response, the Prime Minister shared another video message on social media, thanking people for their support and the suggestions received from young citizens. He began the message with the words, “Thank you friends,” and said the feedback had been encouraging.

The protests at Jantar Mantar have drawn thousands of students and young people demanding greater accountability and reforms to the examination system after recent irregularities in competitive examinations.

Using social media to communicate directly with the youth, the Prime Minister said the government viewed examination malpractice as a serious issue and was committed to protecting the interests of students.

In his earlier address, PM Modi said the Union government had taken several measures over the previous two-and-a-half months to prevent students from losing an academic year. He also referred to the coordinated efforts made to conduct re-examinations and announced that the Union Cabinet would proceed with a stronger legal framework providing for fast-track courts and stricter punishment in paper leak cases.

In his latest message, the Prime Minister thanked young people for engaging with the issue and said their support and suggestions would further strengthen the connection between the government and the public.

“This love of yours will remain, and our bond will continue to connect with even more vibrancy,” PM Modi noted.
