Ink Thrown At CJP Founder Abhijeet Dipke During Jantar Mantar Protest

Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke came under attack on Saturday after a woman threw an ink-like substance at him while he was addressing protesters at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.

The incident unfolded shortly after authorities shifted climate activist Sonam Wangchuk from the protest site to a hospital.

The woman disrupted the gathering by throwing the substance at Dipke during his speech.

The incident prompted supporters to rush towards the stage, creating confusion before organisers regained control of the situation.

Authorities have yet to identify the woman or determine what prompted the attack.

Police are expected to examine the incident and investigate the circumstances surrounding it.

The disruption occurred soon after Dipke declared that he would launch an indefinite hunger strike to oppose Wangchuk’s removal from the protest venue.

The Cockroach Janta Party has been demonstrating at Jantar Mantar since 6 June, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged NEET paper leak.

Sonam Wangchuk joined the campaign and began an indefinite hunger strike at the protest site on 28 June.

After completing 21 days of fasting, Wangchuk’s health reportedly worsened, prompting doctors to recommend medical treatment.

Acting on expert medical advice and following directions from the Delhi High Court, officials shifted him to a hospital on Saturday morning.

Delhi Police escorted Wangchuk from the protest site despite objections and slogan-shouting by CJP workers and other supporters present at Jantar Mantar.

Following Wangchuk’s hospitalisation, Dipke reaffirmed that the agitation would continue. He accused Delhi Police of removing Wangchuk from the protest site against his wishes and announced that he had started his own hunger strike.

As Dipke continued addressing the gathering, the woman stepped out from the crowd and threw the ink-like substance at him, bringing the programme to a brief halt.
