Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday congratulated Skyroot Aerospace on the successful launch of Vikram-1, saying the achievement marks a defining moment in India’s space journey and reflects the growing strength of the country’s private space sector. He said the landmark mission would inspire young Indians to pursue innovation with confidence and dream bigger.
In a post on social media platform X, the Prime Minister said he had spoken to the Skyroot Aerospace team after the successful mission and congratulated them on the achievement. He noted that increasing private sector participation is opening new frontiers for India’s space programme and accelerating innovation across the country.

During a phone call with Skyroot Aerospace CEO Pawan Kumar Chandana and Co-founder Bharat Daka, the Prime Minister congratulated the team for placing six payloads, including two satellites, into a 450-km Low Earth Orbit aboard India’s first privately developed orbital rocket.
The Prime Minister said he watched the launch live, praised the young team, and expressed confidence that Mission Aagaman would achieve even greater milestones. He also described the mission as a strong example of Atmanirbhar Bharat in action.
PM Modi said the launch demonstrated the country’s ability to achieve major technological milestones through indigenous innovation and private enterprise.

During the interaction, Skyroot Aerospace CEO Pawan Kumar Chandana informed the Prime Minister that the Vikram-1 rocket had been completely designed, developed and manufactured in India.
The successful mission marks a major milestone for India’s commercial space ecosystem and reinforces the country’s ambition to become a leading player in the global private space industry.
