PM Modi Reaffirms Commitment To Farmers As NDA Government Completes 12 Years

As the NDA government completed 12 years in office, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reaffirmed his government’s commitment to the welfare and prosperity of farmers, describing them as the foundation of India’s food security, nutrition and economic progress.

Sharing a message on social media under the hashtag #12YearsOfKisanSamriddhi, the Prime Minister said farmers play a vital role in ensuring the nation’s prosperity. He noted that the government has consistently worked to improve their lives through a range of welfare and agricultural initiatives.

PM Modi highlighted flagship schemes such as the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi and the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, stating that these programmes have helped protect farmers’ incomes while strengthening the agricultural sector. He also pointed to the PM-KUSUM scheme, which has expanded the use of solar energy in farming and reduced cultivation costs.

The Prime Minister said Kisan Credit Cards have become an important source of affordable credit for farmers, livestock rearers and fishermen. He added that the government’s ‘Seed to Market’ approach is helping cultivators secure better prices for their produce.

PM Modi said modern farming initiatives such as drones, Soil Health Cards and natural fertilisers are improving productivity.

Under PM-KISAN, over ₹4.28 lakh crore has been transferred to 9.5 crore farmer families, while the PM Fasal Bima Yojana has provided claims worth ₹1.92 lakh crore.

These measures have helped raise India’s foodgrain production to nearly 358 million tonnes, making the country the world’s largest rice producer.
