Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s achievement of becoming India’s longest-serving elected Prime Minister has drawn congratulations from several world leaders, who praised his leadership, public service and contribution to strengthening international partnerships.
Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu congratulated PM Modi on completing 4,399 consecutive days in office, describing the milestone as a reflection of the trust and confidence placed in him by the people of India through three successive electoral mandates.
Calling PM Modi a close friend of Nigeria, Tinubu praised his commitment to national development and influential leadership on the global stage. He also credited the Prime Minister with strengthening India-Nigeria ties and enhancing cooperation between the two countries. Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu also extended his congratulations, calling the achievement a significant democratic milestone. He reaffirmed the Maldives’ commitment to deepening cooperation with India based on mutual respect, sovereign equality and shared interests.

Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim described PM Modi’s record tenure as a testament to years of dedicated public service and leadership. He said the Prime Minister had played an important role in advancing India’s development, prosperity and global standing.
Anwar also highlighted the longstanding friendship between Malaysia and India and expressed his commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and expanding opportunities for the people of both nations.

PM Modi surpassed India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, with 4,399 days in office and became the country’s longest-serving elected Prime Minister.
Since taking office in 2014, PM Modi has won successive mandates in 2019 and 2024. His tenure has seen major projects such as the new Parliament building, Vande Bharat trains, INS Vikrant, Noida International Airport and the Ganga Expressway.
