Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair an important meeting of the Council of Ministers on Thursday at Sewa Teerth in Delhi, bringing together senior members of the Union Cabinet to review governance performance and the implementation of key policy decisions.
The meeting will include all Cabinet Ministers, Ministers of State with independent charge and other Ministers of State. It will focus on assessing the work done by various Ministries, reviewing decisions taken so far and evaluating the outcomes achieved.
Officials said the discussions will also centre on the functioning of flagship government schemes and programmes, with an emphasis on improving efficiency, ensuring better delivery and maximising public impact.
The review will assess Ministry performance, identify priority areas and suggest possible course corrections for the coming months to improve governance outcomes.
The meeting is the first Council of Ministers gathering of the year and takes place amid speculation over a possible cabinet reshuffle, although officials have not confirmed it.
Prime Minister Modi will also review the evolving global situation, including the West Asia conflict and concerns over energy security, oil prices and trade disruptions that may affect India’s economy.
The government has been closely monitoring global developments and their effect on inflation, fuel supply and economic stability.
The high-level meeting also comes in the backdrop of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s recent electoral performance in several states, adding political significance to the discussions.
Earlier, Prime Minister Modi returned to New Delhi after concluding his five-nation diplomatic tour covering the United Arab Emirates, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway and Italy, which focused on strengthening India’s energy, technology and strategic partnerships.
