PIB Fact Check has debunked a viral video being circulated by Pakistani propaganda accounts, alleging that it falsely attributes statements regarding India’s defence deals to Air Marshal Tejinder Singh.
In a post shared on X, PIB Fact Check stated that someone had digitally manipulated the video. The agency also clarified that Air Marshal Tejinder Singh did not make any such statement.

The fact-checking unit also shared a link to the original unedited video published by ANI, urging users to verify the authentic footage before sharing misleading content online.
The government’s fact-checking body stated that the altered video forms part of a malicious disinformation campaign.
According to the agency, the campaign seeks to mislead the public and spread communal hatred through fabricated narratives.
PIB Fact Check warned social media users to remain cautious of AI-generated and digitally altered content, especially videos falsely portraying public officials or defence personnel making controversial statements.
The agency reiterated that someone had manipulated the viral clip and clarified that the Indian Air Force officer never made such a statement.
The government’s fact-checking wing also appealed to citizens to report suspicious or misleading content related to the Government of India.
For reporting such material, PIB Fact Check shared its official contact channels, including WhatsApp and email support, to enable quicker verification and action against misinformation circulating online.
The incident comes amid growing concerns over the misuse of artificial intelligence tools and edited media content to spread fake narratives on social media platforms.
