We See Ourselves As Builders Of India’s Energy Backbone, Says Sagar Adani At Resilient Futures Summit

On Wednesday, Sagar Adani, Executive Director of renewable energy major Adani Green Energy, outlined a long-term approach to building India’s energy infrastructure, stating that the focus goes beyond operating assets to creating a strong and sustainable foundation for the future.

Speaking at the ‘Resilient Futures Summit’, Sagar Adani pointed to steady policy direction in India that has supported infrastructure growth, expansion of renewable energy capacity, and improvements in transmission networks. He noted that consistent policy implementation has played a key role in strengthening the sector.

Sagar Adani also referred to the broader vision of the group led by Chairman Gautam Adani, highlighting a planned investment of over $100 billion towards energy transition initiatives.

According to him, this strategy integrates renewable energy generation, large-scale storage solutions, and the development of green hydrogen, alongside strengthening power transmission systems.

Sagar Adani explained that the company’s activities extend beyond energy into areas such as ports, logistics, airports, and data infrastructure, forming part of a wider framework aimed at supporting economic growth.

Emphasising the need for energy security, he said India should reduce reliance on imported fuels and focus on domestic resources, with electrification seen as a practical route towards long-term stability.

Sagar Adani added that resilience depends on coordination across sectors, noting that energy, transport, and digital systems must work together to sustain growth.

According to him, large-scale and timely execution of infrastructure projects will be essential in achieving these goals.

Sagar Adani concluded by stating that ensuring access to affordable and clean energy at scale would not only benefit India’s population but could also contribute to stability in the global economy.
