Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Rajasthan on April 21 to dedicate the Pachpadra Refinery in Balotra, a greenfield refinery and integrated petrochemical complex.
The facility is designed to comply fully with BS-VI standards, making it one of the country’s most modern refining installations.
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma expressed pride on social media, welcoming the Prime Minister to Rajasthan.
In his message, he described the visit as a moment of honour and highlighted the refinery’s potential to drive economic growth in the Marwar region and create employment opportunities for youth across the state.

HPCL and the Government of Rajasthan have jointly developed the refinery, combining a refinery and a petrochemical plant on site, and have designed it as a Zero Liquid Effluent Discharge project to prevent any liquid waste from entering the environment.
The complex has an annual crude oil processing capacity of nine million tonnes and an integrated petrochemical facility capable of producing two million tonnes per year.
The refinery will import approximately 7.5 million tonnes of crude from Arab nations and source 1.5 million tonnes domestically.
Built at an estimated cost of Rs 80,000 crore, the project will further stimulate economic activity, boost freight movement, and create large-scale employment.
Plans are also underway to revive connectivity between Balotra and Pachpadra to support this growth.
This visit marks PM Modi’s second trip to Rajasthan in two months.
In February, he visited Ajmer to launch development projects worth over Rs 16,000 crore and distribute appointment letters to more than 21,000 youths, further demonstrating his focus on infrastructure and youth empowerment in the state.
