Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said India and Finland are working to strengthen their relationship as a strategic partnership focused on digitalisation and sustainability, with cooperation expanding into advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, 6G telecommunications, clean energy, and quantum computing.
The Prime Minister made the remarks after holding bilateral talks with Finnish President Alexander Stubb in New Delhi.
The leaders discussed ways to deepen cooperation in high-technology sectors and strengthen economic and strategic ties between the two countries.
After the meeting, PM Narendra Modi said cooperation in emerging technologies would give fresh momentum to India–Finland relations.
“We are shaping India–Finland ties into a strategic partnership in digitalisation and sustainability,” he said, adding that collaboration from AI and 6G to clean energy and quantum computing would strengthen high-tech cooperation.
The leaders held talks at Hyderabad House in New Delhi, focusing on expanding cooperation in innovation, research, technology development, and investment.

PM Modi also said the recently concluded India–European Union Free Trade Agreement would boost trade, investment, and technology collaboration between the two countries.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the discussions covered ways to deepen bilateral cooperation and strengthen strategic ties.
The leaders also exchanged views on regional and global developments and explored collaboration in multilateral forums.

Following the talks, PM Modi hosted a luncheon in honour of President Alexander Stubb.
Earlier, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met the Finnish President and discussed strengthening bilateral ties ahead of the meeting.

Jaishankar also said he looked forward to Stubb’s keynote address at the upcoming Raisina Dialogue.
The visit underscores growing momentum in India–Finland relations, with both sides aiming to deepen cooperation in technology, innovation, and sustainable development.
