Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said developed nations are keen to sign trade agreements with India as the country rises with renewed confidence and clarity of purpose.
Addressing the Rising Bharat Summit in New Delhi on the theme Strength Within, he outlined India’s transformation over the past 11 years and its roadmap to becoming a developed nation by 2047.
PM Modi said the period saw the reclamation of national potential, stronger economic self-reliance and a decisive shift in governance and policy direction.
Referring to the ancient principle Tat Tvam Asi, the Prime Minister said India has rediscovered its inner strength and is channelling it to empower citizens and institutions. He noted that the country’s progress is the result of sustained effort across generations, with the last decade injecting fresh energy into the national consciousness.
Highlighting major achievements, the Prime Minister further said India’s banking system has been strengthened and double-digit inflation brought under control. Manufacturing has regained focus with improved product quality and supportive economic policies.
PM Modi described India’s Digital Public Infrastructure, particularly the Jan Dhan, Aadhaar and Mobile trinity, as a model studied by global leaders. Through Direct Benefit Transfer, the period saw transfers of over Rs 24 trillion to beneficiaries without leakages.
India has also emerged as a leading solar power nation, while electrification has reached 30 million families previously without power.
The railway network has expanded significantly, making India’s metro system the world’s third largest, with services such as Vande Bharat and Namo Bharat enhancing connectivity.
India’s Role in the Artificial Intelligence Era
On artificial intelligence, he said India is actively shaping decisions in the AI era, supported by a robust start-up ecosystem and growing data infrastructure. The recent AI Summit, attended by over 100 countries, described as a moment of national pride.
The Prime Minister cited investments in semiconductors, green hydrogen, solar energy, ethanol blending, defence production, mobile manufacturing, drone technology and critical minerals as foundations for long-term growth.
In agriculture, the period saw the extension of loans worth Rs 28 lakh crore and deposits of over Rs 4 lakh crore under PM-KISAN, strengthening the country’s position among leading agricultural exporters.
