Salim Khan Shifted To ICU, Confirms Attending Doctor Officially

Veteran screenwriter Salim Khan has been admitted to the intensive care unit at Lilavati Hospital after being rushed there on Tuesday morning.

Doctors confirmed that he remains stable but under strict medical observation.

Dr Jalil Parkar, who is overseeing the case, issued an official statement regarding the development.

He confirmed that Mr Khan was brought to the hospital’s emergency department at approximately 8:30 AM by family physician Dr Sandeep Chopra.

Medical staff initiated emergency treatment immediately before transferring him to the ICU on the first floor.

A specialised team attended to him. The panel includes neurologist Dr Vinay Chavan, cardiologist Dr Ajit Menon, neurosurgeon Dr Nitin Dange and Dr Bineet Ahluwalia.

Dr Parkar stated that the family has requested privacy. The hospital will therefore release no additional details at present.

He added that doctors will issue a formal medical bulletin at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, subject to the family’s consent.

Earlier in the day, Mr Khan’s elder son, actor Salman Khan, arrived at the hospital.

His daughters, Alvira Khan Agnihotri and Arpita Khan, also visited, along with actor Aayush Sharma.

Reports indicate that Salman Khan left a film shoot in Madh Island to be by his father’s side.

Sources suggest that the senior screenwriter had complained of swelling before admission.

Salim Khan relocated to Mumbai during the 1950s and initially worked as a supporting actor in Hindi cinema.

Although his acting career proved brief, he transitioned to scriptwriting and achieved enduring success.

In the late 1960s, he partnered with Javed Akhtar to form the celebrated duo Salim-Javed.

Between 1971 and 1982, the pair delivered several landmark films, including Andaz, Seeta Aur Geeta, Zanjeer, Deewaar and Sholay.

Their work reshaped mainstream Hindi cinema by emphasising strong narratives, powerful dialogue and a commanding central protagonist.
