Actor Priyanka Chopra Jonas was visibly moved after her husband, singer Nick Jonas, affectionately referred to her as the ‘Desi Girl’ while sharing photos from her recent appearance at the grand title reveal event of SS Rajamouli’s upcoming film Varanasi. His posts, filled with admiration and pride, quickly went viral among fans.
Nick reposted a photo of Priyanka from the Globe Trotter event, expressing his affection with a heartfelt caption that captured his pride in her accomplishments.
Priyanka reshared the post on her Instagram Stories, responding with a tears-of-joy emoji and a red heart, reflecting her emotional reaction.
In a separate post, Nick also sent his congratulations to the cast and crew of Varanasi after viewing the film’s initial teaser.
Sharing Mahesh Babu’s powerful first-look poster, he wrote, “Congrats to the whole team. This film is sure to be incredible,” tagging Priyanka, Rajamouli, Mahesh Babu and other members of the team.
Priyanka’s Ethereal Look Steals the Spotlight
Nick further complimented Priyanka for her stunning appearance at the November 15 title reveal event. Wearing an elegant all-white Nidan couture ensemble, styled with intricate gold and white jewellery, Priyanka captivated both attendees and her global fan base.
Posting another photo, Nick wrote, ‘Just wow. Breathtaking,’ expressing admiration for her traditional lehenga choli look, which fans described as goddess-like.
Priyanka shared a series of pictures from the event with the caption, “Channelling my inner devi”, prompting Nick to comment, “I think I speak on behalf of everyone when I say… Oh my god.”
The Hyderabad event, attended by more than 50,000 fans, showcased the first teaser of Varanasi on a massive 130 ft x 100 ft screen.
Rajamouli also announced that the film is set for a Sankranti 2027 release, heightening anticipation among cinema lovers.
On 13 November, Rajamouli introduced Priyanka’s character, Mandakini, with a striking poster welcomed warmly across social media.
“The woman who redefined Indian cinema on the global stage. Welcome back, Desi Girl!” he wrote, marking her grand return to an Indian cinematic epic.
With Rajamouli directing and Priyanka Chopra Jonas joining Mahesh Babu, audiences are already hailing Varanasi as one of the most-awaited films of the decade.
