According to the Bureau of the Royal Household, a team of doctors who had been overseeing her treatment since 7 September 2019 reported that she had multiple health complications affecting various bodily systems, necessitating constant medical attention, Xinhua News Agency reported.
On 17 October, the Queen Mother developed a bloodstream infection.
Despite the medical team’s efforts, her condition worsened, and she passed away peacefully at 9:21 p.m. local time on Friday.
King Maha Vajiralongkorn has instructed the relevant authorities to organise the Queen Mother’s royal funeral. Her remains will rest at the Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall in the Grand Palace, Bangkok.
Additionally, the King has decreed that the royal family and royal court officials will observe a one-year mourning period, beginning from the date of her passing.
