AAP Unveils Third List Of Candidates As Bihar Poll Battle Heats Up

The AAP on Saturday released its third list of 50 candidates for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, stepping up its poll preparations.

On Saturday, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) issued its third list of 50 candidates for the forthcoming Bihar Assembly elections, signalling a renewed push in its election preparations.

The latest announcement names Shashi Bhushan Tiwari from Lauriya, Arjun Kumar Sinha from Bettiah, Gaysaudin Samaini from Sugauli, and Ranjan Kumar from Samastipur, among several others, contesting under the party’s banner.

This comes days after AAP unveiled its second list on Tuesday, which featured 48 candidates.

That list included Prem Prapt Singh from Chapra, Rajendra Prasad Singh from Lalganj, Aditya Lal from Purnia, and Inderjeet Jyotikar from Hathua.

The first round of candidates, released earlier, had introduced 11 names.

Meanwhile, the Communist Party of India (Marxist–Leninist), a key partner in the Mahagathbandhan alliance, also announced 20 candidates on Saturday.

Separately, the Janata Dal (United) on 16 October declared its second list of 44 candidates, comprising a mix of well-known leaders, current MLAs, and emerging figures from different social and professional backgrounds, an effort to blend experience with youthful representation.

JD(U) Steps Up Campaign Across Bihar

Following this announcement, the JD(U) intensified its campaign activities across Bihar.

In a statement, the party, however, congratulated its nominees and said the list was prepared with the aim of promoting inclusive growth under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s leadership.

Among the prominent figures in the JD(U) lineup are Dhirendra Pratap Singh, known as Rinku Singh, from Valmikinagar; Leshi Singh from Dhamdaha; Jayant Raj from Amarpur; Mahabali Singh from Karakat; and Sumit Kumar Singh from Chakai.

Other significant candidates include Samridh Verma (Sikta), Shweta Gupta (Sheohar), Pankaj Mishra (Runnisaidpur), Sudhanshu Shekhar (Harlakhi), Meena Kamat (Babubarhi), Sheela Mandal (Phulparas), Satish Sah (Laukaha), Aniruddh Prasad Yadav (Nirmali), Vijendra Prasad Yadav (Supaul), Bulo Mandal (Gopalpur), Lalit Narayan Mandal (Sultanganj), Manorama Devi (Belaganj), Chetan Anand (Navinagar), and Vibha Devi (Nawada).

The state will hold voting in two phases, on 6 and 11 November, and will announce the results on 14 November.

The deadline for submitting nominations for the first phase is 17 October.
