India Express News Network Chairman and Editor-in-Chief Upendrra Rai attended the 13th annual function of Patanjali Acharyakulam in Haridwar on Wednesday.
The event was themed ‘Character Building and Prosperity: The Foundation of Education’. Baba Ramdev was present, warmly welcoming Rai to the stage and recalling their 25-year association.
On stage, Upendrra Rai addressed the audience, underlining the importance of education, character-building, and prosperity. He highlighted India Express’s journey from its inception to becoming a major news network, attributing its growth to Baba Ramdev’s guidance.
CMD Upendrra Rai illustrated his speech with a story from the essay Aacharan Ki Sabhyaata by the renowned Hindi writer Sardar Purn Singh, which he studied in class 12.
The story depicted a poor boatman saving a woman from a flood, while her wealthy relatives did not risk their lives. Rai explained, “True character emerges naturally through actions and integrity; it is not taught in schools or bought in markets.”
