Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be in Jaipur for a one-day visit on Monday, where he will inaugurate a state-level exhibition at JECC, Sitapura, showcasing India’s new criminal laws.
The exhibition marks one year since the implementation of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, which came into effect on July 1, 2024.
Authorities enforce strict security measures for the VVIP visit.
They banned drones in areas under the Sanganer, Airport, Sanganer Sadar, Pratap Nagar, Jawahar Circle, Malviya Nagar, Bajaj Nagar, and Gandhi Nagar police stations.
They deployed over 1,500 police officers and personnel, including DCPs, ADCPs, inspectors, constables, traffic staff, and RAC companies, to manage security and traffic.
Officials stationed a Quick Reaction Team (QRT) at the airport and the exhibition venue and conducted a full-dress rehearsal for the VVIP movement on Sunday.
Exhibition and Public Engagement
The six-day exhibition, running from October 13 to 18, will feature interactive demonstrations, digital presentations, and live showcases to highlight the transformative impact of the new legal framework.
It aims to foster awareness about justice over punishment, and the principles of transparency, speed, and accessibility in the justice system.
Entry on the inaugural day is by invitation only, with public access available from October 14 to 18, from 10 AM to 5 PM.
The exhibition also includes competitions, selfie points, food stalls, and informative displays to engage visitors.
During the inauguration, Shah will launch projects worth ₹8,000 crore and facilitate the registration of 150 free electricity units.
Several other public welfare schemes are set to be unveiled, reflecting the government’s commitment to social development and citizen empowerment.
Officials have described the programme as a significant step towards the vision of ‘New Laws for a New India’.
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Acting Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court Sanjeev Prakash Sharma, and other dignitaries will attend, highlighting the event’s role in promoting legal reform awareness and public engagement in Rajasthan.
