Swami Chaitanyananda, accused of molesting female students, was produced before Judicial Magistrate Animesh Kumar at Patiala House Court.
The magistrate remanded Chaitanyananda to fourteen days’ judicial custody after his five-day police custody expired, following ongoing investigation proceedings.
Three petitions have been separately filed by him, seeking proper food, medical assistance, religious books, seizure memos, and the case diary.
The court has scheduled hearings on these petitions for Saturday, marking another crucial stage in the sensitive trial proceedings.
Previously, the Patiala House Court dismissed his anticipatory bail plea in the land-grabbing case involving a fabricated educational trust.
The trust in question is the Sri Sharda Institute of Indian Management, Vasant Kunj, allegedly used for illegal land activities.
Police arrested three women in the case: Associate Dean Shweta Sharma, Executive Director Bhavana Kapil, and faculty member Kajal. They face charges of threatening complainants and destroying critical evidence connected with allegations against Chaitanyananda’s sexual misconduct and land misappropriation.
Obscene chats recovered during the investigation revealed Chaitanyananda referring to female students as ‘baby dolls’ in disturbing digital communication records.
Investigators also seized fake photographs with Prime Minister Modi, former US President Obama, and a senior British politician. Delhi Police discovered he stayed with female students at a guest house in Almora, raising concerns about misconduct.
Additionally, police recovered incriminating digital evidence, objectionable videos, a sex toy, and five pornographic CDs from Chaitanyananda’s personal belongings.
He now faces an FIR under Sections 75(2), 79, and 351(2) of the Indian Penal Code for multiple charges.
