The controversy over a voter list complaint during Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in Bihar took a new turn after the truth surfaced.
Union Minister and BJP national president JP Nadda posted a video of Ranju Devi, who had earlier told Rahul Gandhi that officials removed her family’s names from the electoral roll.
In the video, Ranju Devi clarified that her name and her family’s names are indeed present on the voter list, exposing the false claims made earlier.
While reposting the video on social media platform X, Nadda took a poetic dig at Rahul Gandhi:
“Khada hoon aaj bhi wahin… jahan mera jhooth pakdaaya, sach saamne aaya, aur maine apna mazaak banwaaya…”
खड़ा हूँ आज भी वहीं… जहाँ मेरा झूठ पकड़ाया, सच सामने आया, और मैंने अपना मज़ाक बनवाया… खड़ा हूँ आज भी वहीं। https://t.co/Ihdl77pR97

Rahul Gandhi’s Meeting with Ranju Devi
During the ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in Rohtas district, Ranju Devi had met Rahul Gandhi and complained that her and her family’s names were missing from the voter roll. A video of that interaction quickly went viral on social media, sparking debate over alleged voter list manipulation.
In the fresh video, Ranju Devi explained that a ward secretary told her that her family’s names were not in the voter list and advised her to raise the issue directly with Rahul Gandhi during his visit.
“I lack formal education, so I repeated only what people told me. The old list had my name, but they said it wasn’t in the new one, so I raised the issue,” she said.
Ranju Devi clarified that the official electoral roll includes both her name and her family members’ names, and officials did not remove any of them. She admitted that she repeated the claim without verifying it.
