Police reported that on Sunday, three masked men fired over a dozen rounds outside the Gurugram residence of YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT winner Elvish Yadav.

Elvish Yadav was not at home during the incident, according to Sandeep Kumar, PRO of Gurugram Police. The YouTuber currently resides outside Haryana.

Visuals shared by ANI revealed shattered glass, a damaged ceiling, and other marks caused by the gunfire.

Yadav lives on the second and third floors of the building. His caretaker and some family members were present, but no one was injured.

Authorities quickly arrived at the scene, collected forensic samples, and began reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding area.

Legal proceedings are expected to commence once Yadav’s family files a formal complaint, a senior police officer confirmed.

“The assailants fired over two dozen rounds at the property before fleeing. The bullets struck both the ground and first floors,” police said.

A relative cited by PTI stated that Elvish Yadav had not received any threats before the attack. The police confirmed that the investigation is ongoing.

Background: Yadav Faces Snake Venom Case

Elvish Yadav currently faces a legal case over allegedly using snake venom as a recreational drug at so-called ‘rave’ parties attended by Indians and foreigners.

In May, the Allahabad High Court dismissed Yadav’s petition challenging the chargesheet and ongoing criminal proceedings.

Senior advocate Navin Sinha and lawyer Nipun Singh, representing Yadav, argued that the complainant lacked the authority to file an FIR under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972.

They also stated that Yadav was not present at the Noida party where the alleged incident took place and that nothing incriminating was recovered from him.

The Noida Police arrested Yadav in March last year. His lawyers stated that authorities had seized no snakes, narcotics, or psychotropic substances from him and had established no direct link between him and the other accused.

Police continue to examine the crime scene and have assured the public that the investigation will be thorough. Meanwhile, Yadav’s family is coordinating with authorities and will soon file an FIR.

The shooting adds to ongoing security concerns for public figures in the digital entertainment space, with law enforcement emphasising vigilance and proactive measures.
