PM Narendra Modi will visit Bengaluru on August 10, 2025. He will inaugurate the much-anticipated Yellow Line of Namma Metro. He will also lay the foundation stone for Metro Phase 3. BJP MP Tejasvi Surya announced this on Sunday.
‘Landmark Moment’ for Bengaluru South
Calling the visit a ‘landmark moment’, Surya posted on X, “Hon. PM Sri @narendramodi Ji’s visit to Bengaluru on August 10 will be a landmark moment for Bengaluru South. He will not only inaugurate the long-awaited Yellow Line Metro operations but also lay the foundation stone for Metro Phase 3 – a project that received Cabinet approval within the first 100 days of his third term.”
Surya emphasised that both metro projects will benefit nearly 25 lakh people in Bengaluru South, the constituency he represents.
“With nearly 20,000 crore worth of Metro infrastructure dedicated to this region alone, we are incredibly grateful to PM Modi for his continued focus, affection, and commitment to Bengaluru South’s public transport infrastructure,” he added.

Details of the Yellow Line and Phase 3 Projects
BMRCL confirmed the 19.15 km Yellow Line connects RV Road to Bommasandra with 16 stations. Authorities have developed this project at a cost of ₹5,056.99 crore.
BMRCL will build the proposed Phase 3 project, covering 44.65 km, at a cost of ₹15,611 crore. Union Minister Manohar Lal confirmed the PM’s participation on X on August 2.
India currently ranks third globally in operational metro network length and is poised to become the second largest. Metro systems across the country now serve over 1 crore commuters daily.
Bengaluru’s Namma Metro, India’s second-longest, serves over 8 lakh daily commuters.
