IndiGo Flight Faced Mid Air Technical Difficulty, Emergency Landing In Mumbai

The crew of IndiGo flight 6E6271, which departed from Delhi bound for Goa, encountered a mid-air technical difficulty, prompting authorities to declare a ‘full emergency’ at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) on July 16.

The airline operated the flight using an Airbus A320neo aircraft, originally scheduled to land at Manohar International Airport in Goa.

Facing the snag, the flight crew followed protocol and diverted the aircraft to Mumbai to ensure passenger safety.

In an official statement, CSMIA confirmed that they diverted the flight to Mumbai as a precautionary measure in response to the emergency situation.

CSMIA informed that after a Delhi-Goa flight diverted due to a technical snag, authorities declared a full emergency at 21:35 hours on 16 July 2025. The flight landed safely at 21:52 hours, and officials withdrew the full emergency status at 21:57 hours.

There were no casualties observed, and the airport staff safely deboarded the passengers. Authorities ensured that the safety of the passengers remains their top priority.

The airport highlighted that no impact on overall airport operations has been observed. At CSMIA, safety always remains as highest priority.

“An alternative aircraft has been arranged for completing the journey, which will depart shortly with the customers. We regret the inconvenience caused to our customers due to this unforeseen situation. At IndiGo, the safety and security of the customers, crew, and aircraft are of utmost importance,” confirmed the spokesperson.

As per further details, all passengers were safe, and no casualties were reported

The airline is said to be making efforts to minimise the disruption faced by the travellers and is coordinating travel arrangements.
